Your new challenges and responsibilities
At Pipelife, you will leverage your technical expertise in overseeing procurement and orchestrating towing operations that span vast seas – from our factory in Stathelle to our valued customers across the world. Your deep technical comprehension will be instrumental in evolving the planning and development of Pipelife’s towing ventures, solidifying our standing as the leading exporter known for the industry’s longest maritime towing deliveries.
This pivotal role directly reports to the Export Manager and encompasses engaging communication with a diverse array of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, insurance firms, and governmental bodies, both at the national and international levels
Desired Candidate Qualifications
We are seeking an individual with experience and knowledge of technical solutions and installations in the maritime or offshore sector, as your technical expertise will be essential in ensuring quality and delivery capability. We envision that you have a relevant higher technical education at the BSc or MSc level. To succeed in this position, it is a requirement to communicate fluently in Norwegian and English. Further, you must be able to build trust in collaboration with others, have a high work capacity, and strong execution skills.
Primary responsibilities
- Technical procurement:
- Identifying and carrying out a technical and commercial assessment of existing and potential new suppliers
- Making detailed specifications for suppliers based on the project needs
- Negotiating terms in liaison with the procurement department
- Towing operations:
- Overall responsibility of the tow until it is handed over to the client
- Designing the tow set-up for all export and domestic projects in cooperation with the Project Manager and with support from technical consultants
- Sourcing for towing suppliers for specific projects
- Following-up with Marine Warranty Surveyors and insurance companies
Overall, in your new daily work, you will be engaged in the development and improvement with a focus on towing equipment and protection. Additionally, you will act as a sparring partner for the export department and others, offering insights on various technical solutions. The workplace is at our factory at Stathelle.
